Unfortunately, scaffold accidents do occur. The good news is that scaffold accidents are preventable with knowledge of proper inspection and correct setup and disassembly.

All those who work with, on, and around scaffolding must become familiar with the following document and appropriate ANSI, Federal and Cal OSHA regulations.

The following is the Scaffold Industry Association’s Code of Safe Practices:

ANSI/OSHA Compliance Requires the Following:

Single Wide Scaffolds over 7 Ft Height Require Outriggers and Toeboards.

Double Wide Scaffolds over 13 Ft 6 In Height Require Outriggers and Toeboards.

Scaffold Height Must Never Exceed 3X the Base Width.
